Local settings and history, with optional online features you control.

Local settings and history

Dukes does not require a Dukes account to use its local driving features. App settings, remembered device information, saved lockouts, custom locations, automations and encounter history are stored on the device. Some features store location or driving history so they can work and be reviewed later.

Location and Bluetooth

Location supports navigation, road matching, camera approaches, automations and GPS lockouts. Bluetooth connects compatible detectors, laser systems and buttons. Remembered device identifiers and related settings may be saved locally. Permission can be managed in iOS Settings; denying it limits the features that need it.

Online services and reports

Not every feature is offline. Map/search/navigation services, OpenStreetMap lookups, community feeds, aircraft providers and downloads contact external services. Queries may include a location-derived area or other information required by that feature. Network services also receive ordinary request information such as an IP address.

If you configure a reporting feed and submit a report or vote, the request is sent to that configured service. A location-based report can contain coordinates, direction, time and report details. A user-configured service may require its own credentials and has its own policies. Not needing a Dukes account does not mean no service is contacted.

Backups, diagnostics and support

Backups and diagnostic logs can contain settings, feed configuration, device information and driving/location history. They are stored locally until you export or share them. When you choose a destination, that destination receives the selected file or message. Review exports before sharing; only send the information needed for the issue.

Your choices

You can disable optional features, manage iOS permissions, disconnect or forget hardware, clear saved data using the relevant app controls, and choose whether to submit a report or share an export. Removing local data does not remove a report or file already sent to another service; consult that service for its controls.
